Remember, they are powerless and can be safely ignored. They are not a party to the contract allegedly breached by the driver and have no standing to do anything except to make threats they cannot actually do anything about.
All debt recovery letters, even those from solicitors acting as debt collectors will only give you 14 days to pay. A real Letter of Claim (LoC), when it arrives, will give 30 days. Come back if/when you receive one of those.
