GXS PCN Cancelled. What to do now ?
#2
Welcome to PPTLA @Shadow_77.

I have read your post above and I have also noted that case is about your GXS case that began on FTLA and has now reached the stage where GXS say they have cancelled the PCN after admitting they used the wrong photos.

Before we go any further, please complete the PCN details form here:

Once you have done that, please copy and paste the summary it generates into a new post on this thread.

That gives me a clean case record I can refer to immediately when dealing with multiple cases across the forum, and it helps ensure that the key dates, documents, operator details and procedural stage are all set out in one standard format from the outset.

After you post that summary, I will pick up the case from there and advise on the best next step in light of the cancellation and the data misuse issues you have raised.

Below is a summary of your case as it appeared on the other forum. Please correct me if I have misstated anything:

Quote:The case concerns a GXS Services Parking Charge Notice described as “Unauthorised Vehicle”. The notice is dated 2 January 2026 and relates to an alleged contravention on 29 December 2025 at 11:33 at “Arlington Seaside, Southampton, SO14 1NB”. The thread began on 12 January 2026 after receipt of the notice on 11 January 2026.

The central factual issue throughout the case is that the operator’s evidence is said to show the wrong vehicle. The history consistently states that the wider images show a white Nissan, while the keeper’s vehicle is a BMW 1 Series, and that the only image said to relate to the keeper’s vehicle is an isolated close-up of the number plate with no visible date or time stamp and no contextual image showing the BMW parked in any private bay. The user’s account is that the vehicle was parked lawfully nearby in a council pay-and-display place and may only have been captured while reversing or manoeuvring.

An initial appeal was submitted on 14 January 2026. By 27 January 2026 GXS had rejected it with what is described in the thread as a template response that did not engage with the specific point that the evidence showed a different vehicle. The rejection is also said to have relied on generic signage assertions and Google Maps screenshots rather than contemporaneous proof of any contravention.

After rejection, the keeper attempted to use the IAS portal, but on 22 February 2026 the portal reportedly returned “Your PCN or Registration Number has not been recognised”, preventing an IAS appeal within the stated 28-day period. Advice in the thread was to complain to GXS rather than panic about the IAS stage.

By 23 March 2026 the matter had escalated beyond the rejected appeal stage. The history records a Final Reminder dated 24 February 2026 demanding £170 and a TRACE Debt Recovery letter dated 12 March 2026 also demanding £170. A formal complaint draft was then prepared to GXS asserting that they had pursued the keeper despite being told their evidence showed the wrong car, that the data was obtained and processed unlawfully, and that the matter should be cancelled with erasure instructions issued to TRACE. The final post in the uploaded history says: “Okay thanks. I will send this complaint and wait for their response.”
