Parking Group - The Parking People parking fine - James53436 - 05-16-2026 Hi all, i was away visiting my partner and we stopped at a services , and briefly stopped in a Starbucks car park to check out phones. We were in there for 10 minutes at most. I had not parked in a bay, but rather a row of spaces where two or three cars could parallel park. My other half told me this car park was camera controlled, but, I do not remember seeing any signs saying you could not park where I did. I received a fine today, about 3 weeks after the incident, saying I was not parked in a marked bay, when the area I was parked in looks like a short row to parallel park. I have submitted an appeal, and was wondering for your advice. I would go back and have a quick look, but it is nearly 150 miles away. Many thanks, James
RE: Parking Group - The Parking People parking fine - b789 - 05-17-2026 I’m Welcome to the forum @James53436. I need to see the whole of the Notice to Keeper (NtK). Only redact your personal details and the PCN reference number. Please leave all other details visible. I also need to see the back of it. Also, I will need to see the actual appeal wording you used. Has the driver been identified in the appeal? For example, did you use wording such as “I did this or that” rather than referring to the driver in the third person such as “the driver did this or that”? Please complete the PCN details form here and paste the summary it gives you in a new post reply in this thread: PCN Details Form Please note that what you have received is not a “fine”. An unregulated private parking firm is not an authority of any kind that can issue “fines”. It is simply a speculative invoice for an alleged breach of contract by the driver. In general, these PCNs are easily challenged and if you follow the advice you receive here, these PCNs likelihood of you paying a penny to them is slim to none. A quick observation is that if you want not received the NtK several weeks after the date of the alleged contravention, then as long as the driver has. It been identified. They cannot hold you, as the Keeper, legally able for the charge. Have you read any of the resources and articles available here? Gullibletree.com |
